Projects and Software

County Government - Migrate an administrative office from a Unix based server setting to Small Business Server 2003. This included migrating from a peer to peer environment to a domain setup, migrating local Outlook clients to Exchange server, adding a backup solution, and support for a private software vendor while they migrated the office to a new accounting solution.

Multi Location - Determine required routing hardware, server hardware, and software to implement a Domain environment between a main manufacturing plant and two remote plants.

Business to Business - Implement a VPN solution between our client and a fortune 500 company. Connection was a requirement to do business with the partner. We were required to purchase, configure and implement the solution on both ends. This required working with the partner for IP routing and subnetting.

Builder - Migrate an under-powered server that was running Windows Small Business Server 2003 to new hardware. This included migrating Exchange server and shared documents.

Manufacturing Company - Install a business server running Microsoft Windows Server 2003 and upgrade DOS MiSys Manufacturing Software to a Windows based solution. This job required that all data in the DOS application be available in the new Windows version.

Service Business - Transition from QuickBooks 2005 with 5 users to Microsoft Accounting 2007. This included implementing Microsoft SQL Server 2005 on a new server and implementing unique permissions for each accounting user.

Developer - Install Microsoft Small Business Server, configure Exchange Server, Install Outlook 2003 on local users computers and connect them to Microsoft Exchange. Create public contact list. Configure the network router and server permissions to allow Outlook over HTTP for remote users.

Home and Architect - Design and implement a Gigabit network solution to increase performance and reduce data transfer bottlenecks. This included reducing the number of network switches from 5 to 1. (A subcontractor was used to install cabling)

Private School - Install a wireless bridge between two buildings to meet 2 requirements. The first requirement was to connect teachers and staff at building 2 to the server resources in building 1. The second requirement was to reduce the need and cost of two internet service plans, one for each building.

Education - Install and configure a SonicWall network appliance (Firewall). Configure and manage content filtering to prevent children and faculty from accessing non-approved websites.

Factory - Migrate Accpac / MiSys Manufacturing Software from a peer to peer environment to a server environment.
