New Store on Sailors Drive

June 2006 The purchase of Blizzard's permanent Office/Store at 64 Sailors Drive - Suite 120 is finalized.

May 2006 We experience an increase in demand for our Blizzard Storm computers. We drop Windows XP Home Edition and now provide Windows XP Media Center Edition as our base operating system for home computers.

April 2006 Blizzard Computers opens a temporary office/store at 64 Sailors Drive - suite 116 in Ellijay. Customers can check our website for inventory and prices for components we offer right here in town. www.blizzardcomputers.com

March 2006 Lindsey Sampson returns to Blizzard Computers as Service Manager and begins re-establishing a connection with personal computer users as well as providing another avenue of support for business clients. His previous employment by an Internet service provider while attending Kennesaw State and his technical support experience with Philips Electronics in Atlanta prove to be an asset to both Blizzard Digital Corporation and our clients. He holds CompTIA A+ and Net+ certifications.

February 2006 The Blizzard Storm™ is back by popular demand. Blizzard Computers is now open to personal computer users. Now you can receive the same quality service for your home computers that we have been providing to local businesses for years. We just couldn't turn down the numerous requests to repair home computers any more. There must be a need that is not being filled by the local shops if we are getting this many calls.

2005 With an election shakeup in the commissioner's office and the new commission's intent to better serve the people, Blizzard Digital is called upon to provide computer service to the "new" Gilmer County Government. A number of departments start taking advantage of digital technology and the Internet. The county gets a new website: www.gilmercounty-ga.gov. Due to an increase in calls asking for home computer service we start considering the idea of re-establishing personal computer sales and service. Through the years, we maintained our status as Microsoft OEM System Builders and remained active members of the Intel Product Dealers Program.

2004 Blizzard Digital is recognized by many clients for their search engine optimization (SEO) capabilities. We experience an increase in annual sign-ups for web design and hosting. Real estate agents become our leading web clients. Business service continues to grow. Kyle Blizzard starts developing the BlizDev Real Estate Application to better serve our real estate clients. Amy, Clint, and Kyle Blizzard combine to form our web team and they are determined to bring quality web design, hosting and email service to Ellijay clients.

2003 The transition was complete and a significant percentage of Blizzard Digital's business was Internet related. We were providing hosting under the mark Ellijay Web Hosting™, and design under the mark Ellijay Web Design™.

2002 We continued to service the computer, software, and network needs of local businesses. After adding web servers and mail servers to South Florida and then Texas, we were on a fast track to provide web hosting and site design to companies throughout the USA but our primary focus was providing computer and web services to local companies.

2001 The business was moved next door to The Movie Gallery on Main Street, Ellijay. By the end of the year the path was set to discontinue personal computer service and apply resources to IT support, web hosting, web design, website marketing and promotion, and application development. The Blizzard Storm™ maintained its quality but was transformed into a business computer.

2000 The company name and assets of Blizzard Computers™ was purchased by Blizzard Digital Corporation. Blizzard Digital was formed by David and Amy Blizzard. Blizzard Computers™ and Bliznet™ became trademarks for our service business and our web services. We open an Office/Store in the old Wal-Mart Shopping Center in East Ellijay.

1999 As Ellijay grew Blizzard's focus was restored to the original plans for computer service and web hosting. The Blizzard business model changed direction, and more resources were used for IT support for local businesses, and a greater focus was put on providing web hosting and site design for these local companies.

1998 Some of our early computer sales and service clients were the Ellijay Telephone Company, Community Television (the local cable TV provider), Thomas Oil Company, Appalachian Propane, Gilmer County Commissioner's Office, Blue Ridge Auto Auction, Gilmer County Sheriff's Office, Gilmer Fire, Octagon Homes, Cliff Lancey Attorney, Ronald J. Armstrong Attorney, A.S. Dover and many more. We continue to provide service to all of these companies today with the exception of E-T-C and the cable company. ETC developed their own IT staff and they also merged with the cable company.

1997 We established a name for the Blizzard Storm™ computer systems. They were well-received and provided reliable, high-end performance. Employees were trained to custom build systems with pride rather than re-label whitebox computers. Our friends, family, and neighbors called our systems by name. The Blizzard Storm™ was not just another home computer.

1996 In recognition of their dedication to excellent customer service, the local telephone company asked Blizzard Computers to provide customer support for the Ellijay Telephone Company's growing Internet service. Blizzard provided that service until the ISP tech support started to exceed the demands of Blizzard's own clients. The rapid growth of the Internet sparked the creation of Bliznet™ - www.bliznet.com was launched to provide web hosting to a growing number of computer service clients.

1995 David Blizzard started Blizzard Computers™, a personal computer service company located on Old Highway 5 South in Ellijay, Georgia.
